Originally settled by the Dutch in the 17th Century followed by the English, many places, have retained their Dutch names. Kinderhook (Children's corner) is said to have been named by Henrik Hudson when he sailed up The Hudson River. Today you'll sense the flavor of the County's origins in historic homes set in quaint villages and dotted along rolling farmland and orchards
